WP6: Hosting Capacity - Summary

Improved Hosting Capacity: enabling higher levels of renewables

Creating higher accuracy than regular theoretical calculations used today, EPR improved the tool for grid operators to assess the capacity for hosting renewable energy. Combining power quality measurement with multi-KPI-analysis, a larger amount of renewable generation can be integrated without an increase in costs or risk. Further capacity is possible by accepting a statistical 95% maximum. Adding prediction algorithms to assess future trends enables further optimisation of network planning.
